New Lower Price Makes This Audio Panel a Very Affordable Upgrade!
The PMA7000 series audio panel not only provides a great set of capabilities, it also lends itself nicely for upgrading an existing Bendix/King KMA24 audio panel. The PMA7000B is KMA24 pin compatible, making the cost of the upgrading less expensive. None of the existing wires going to the KMA24 have to be disturb, thus reducing the amount of installation.
With their renown 6-place IntelliVox® automatic Voice Operated Relay (VOX) intercom system, adjusting a squelch circuit is a thing of the past. And with over 13 years of field experience, find out just how easy it is to forget you are even using an intercom, it just works! No more clipping or missed syllables.
The PMA7000B provides 3-com capability with the option to easily convert Com 3 to a full duplex cellular telephone interface. Click here for List of Cell Phones. It also has our pioneered "Split Mode". This allows the pilot to be on Com 1 while the copilot is on Com 2, freeing up the pilot to work with ATC while the copilot gets weather information or finds out just where the lowest fuel cost is on the field while still in the air.
Check list of capabilities:

-
RAM (Radio Active Mute) eliminates constant back ground noise from radio static
The only knob that is on the panel is a concentric volume control for the Crew and Passengers intercom volume. The all push button controls of the PMA7000B allows for easy selection of Coms and other Nav aids.
The PMA7000B has four un-switched and un-muted inputs. This adds flexibility when installed with today's advanced warning systems, like Skywatch or TAWS.
Here are the steps it takes to replace a KMA24 with a PMA7000B:
1) remove KMA24 from tray
2) remove the connector from KMA24 tray
3) remove tray
4) install PMA7000B tray
5) install connector in PMA7000B tray
6) install PMA7000B into tray
As far as the audio panel installation is concerned, its done. GO FLY
BUT.........
You will not have any intercom functions until that portion of the install is completed.
That's why there is second connector. This connector must be wired by your avionics shop that will provide all of the intercom functions, telephone interface, and music inputs.
The PMA7000B is plug and play with the original PMA7000M-S, the PMA6000M-S, and the KMA28.
PMA7000B Product Information Overview and Features
What do you do when you have the best audio panel in the world? You make it better! After nearly four years of production of the PS Engineering flagship PMA7000M-S, the company has rolled a number of product options into a new unit. Called the PMA7000B, this version incorporates the most requested features of the PMA7000M-S and PMA7000MS-CD.
Featuring our IntelliVox® , each of the 6 microphone circuits are monitored by a microprocessor, discerning the difference between voice and noise. The instant the protocol recognizes a voice it instantly opens up the microphone, eliminating the frustration of clipping the first syllables. This automatic VOX system completely eliminates the need for manually adjusting VOX squelch knobs.
The all push-button control for the transceivers adds flexibility to the product while reducing complexity.
Among the features incorporated in the PMA7000B is the ability to interface with phones as well as cellular telephones that allows the use of a hands free device.
The use of cellular telephones is legal on the ground. Now the pilot or copilot can have the convenience of making private phone calls using their headset, or join in a party line call with the passengers. Private and party line calls can be made depending upon the configuration of the two on/off hook switches installed in the aircraft.
In addition, individual volume controls are now provided to allow the crew and passengers to fine-tune their own intercom volume.
With the advent of more and more audio outputs now available to the pilot, we have added two more un-switched inputs, making a total of four. These are available to provide critical audio inputs, such as traffic or ground proximity warning, as well as GPS and autopilot alerts. Historically audio panels only had two, which limited the flexibility in additional equipment.
And we are providing more capability than ever before at a lower cost, making the PMA7000B perfect for the 172 to the Beech Baron. It will nicely top off your avionics, providing you with the very best in cockpit audio.
PS Engineering offers an exclusive 2-year ProSupport warranty when installed by an authorized dealer.
